My Mom: "You know what all of my friends with art degrees actually end up DOING with them?"

My Dad: "They draw pictures on the back of it."

I like how my parents can take the fact that they don't support me or my life goals in any way, and actually turn it into a joke.

Now that makes me feel great!

It's awfully hard to get motivated when everyone around you is saying "Oh, you want to make art? Weelllll, I REALLY hope you love the taste of top ramen!"

you know what I really hate more than not following your dream is people who are so apathetic about their lives that they have nothing to be passionate about.

if you're passionate about something, I say go for it! it's better than ending up doing something you hate.

I really do agree with you. Graphic Design is what I want to study, but I can't seem to convince my parents it's not a group of kids who sit around and draw pictures all day, and that's it.

I really don't enjoy arguing or complaining about my parents. I really love them, but some of the things I really believe in are the hardest for them to understand.

so annoying.
i don't understand how they can't believe in their own child.
i believe in you. and i know you're an amazing artist and if you put your mind to it and have drive behind yourself you can do anything!
