Yay! I'm thrilled to hear you like it! I'm aware of the fact that it's not the best series ever produced, and it does have issues, but - it's so much fun!
I also bring happy news - the producers are trying to push Sci-Fi Channel into giving them a premier in July. It looks likely that it will happen, so then you won't have to wait more than a couple of months for season 5!
It is very much fun indeed. :) I just find the beginning very slow, not paced right and overdrawn. But as soon as the actors were set on their roles the show took off. :)
I really hope for a July premier, as right now there are only BSG (which will finish with this season) and SG:A as the remaining good and fun SciFi series on television. I'm still not totally sold on the new animated Star Wars show and the RealLife Star Wars series... Well, I just don't know. I hope, but I don't know.
Also: Why are you still awake?! *grins*
But while you're here... I'd like to ask you a favour and drop me a line at "m.cebulla[at]enklave-23.de". I'd like to talk to you about a few things, and I'd like to keep it... Well... Private.
It's a show that feels like everyone involved is having fun with, to me, and that's really important. There are other shows where you watch interviews with the actors, and they really have no idea what's going on (sadly, this is true of the guy who played Harry in the short-lived Sci-Fi version of The Dresden Files), but these guys...! Apparently now before the writers started writing season 5, they all came in and had really long conversations with them about where their characters are, and where they're going and such.
David Hewlett is my absolute favorite (mainly because he's a huge geek himself ♥), but Joe Flanigan is a much better actor than is immediately apparent, I think. It takes him a while to get comfortable in the role, but once he does, he delivers some first-rate acting.
Good SciFi on TV... I've heard from others that The Sarah Connor Chronicles are good? And possible Jericho, too. I don't watch either one of them though, so I don't know.
You're dead on, there. I just saw the episode where Shepard was kept prisoner by the rogue Genii and was fed upon by a Wraith with whom he then actually bonded. It was "Enemy Mine" in 30 minutes, but you could see that he enjoyed it
