Where: The Hideout -- Parlor
When: Mid-afternoon, September 8th
Who: Giles, Buffy, Fred, Xander (more characters are still welcome!)
What: First meeting to strategize the resistance

Things had changed in the past few months; Giles could not pretend that hadn’t. If the ever-dwindling supply of his favorite whiskey and the destruction of the Magic Box hadn’t been enough to convince him of that fact, he needed only to look at the faces of Xander and Buffy. However today, he reminded himself sternly, was not the moment to dwell on maudlin thoughts. He needed the same, stiff-upper lip that has got his own parents through the London bombings during WWII. Today was a day for action.

He knew Buffy found it vaguely comical how he continued his dry, professor-like lectures in the face of all that had happened in recent months. Struggling with the overhead projector, Giles grunted as he set it down on the heavy mahogany table. Whatever the monster or menace, he had always found comfort in his well-established routine. That the threat they confronted now came in the being of their former friend would not change anything.

“Buffy!” Giles managed to make out, breathing heavily from exertion as he shifted the projector to face the wall. “Do you think you might consider lending a hand? I’m convinced people will be here any moment.”

This was met with silence. Giles sighed loudly and went in search of tea and scones for the guests, ignoring the precarious positioning of the overhead projector. Whatever the nightmarish world that surrounded them, he was not going to allow a meeting to go forth without proper refreshments.
