1. Facebook has barred me from my account until I give them either A) my cell phone number, or B) a picture of my drivers' license.

2. tyrrlin came through and gave me the link to the page where you can get your account disabled. Except, in order for them to delete my account, I am required to log in. Which means...you're way ahead of

I’ve had a facebook account for a few years now- and though I’m not very active it’s nice to be able to keep in touch with people. When I read about you being asked to give them my phonenr I though that was weird- cause I’ve never been asked to do this…until today! When I logged in I was asked to verify my account (or something like that) by adding my phone number… O_o I think not!

So I was able to ignore this because I’ve already have an account- but they will probably be bugging me now every time I log on- stupid facebook.

Well. it's nice to know I'm not crazy. I did read that they're targeting new people, but it looks like they're going after their existing accounts now too. I foresee that going over big. Not.

I'm glad you can bypass it. That would be really frustrating to not be able to access an account you'd had for years. Sadly, new account holders are not given the option to bypass.
