A bedtime story of sorts

I seldom wish I could be the fly on the wall and eavesdrop on a particular conversation. There was one time, however when I wished I was the fly on the rearview mirror…

you are NEVER too self-aggrandizing, but only deeply deeply awesome.

this made me smile a lot. both the telling and the happening.

sadly, I must report that the conversation on the way home, from what I can remember, was a whole lot of nothing. But then again, that's a reaction in itself. oh yes.

I am also so happily flattered by this.

...I'd like to write a long thing about how The Foolish Duke eventually lost his Foolishness and over time became The Interesting and Much More Honest and Less Anal Retentive and Extremely Supportive Parent when the Invisible Hellspawn Board stripped him of his titles and lands and banished him from the kingdom, as it makes a good and quite archetypal parable. But it's a longer story...

I do hope that someday soon you & I get to meet again...

Glad you liked it. You have often been on my mind and not just for this one instance.

I have told the story in various ways over time and came up with the half-assed Just So Stories version one day while I was painting. I'm not sure it rates a rewrite but I kind of pooped out near the end and rushed the final act. Too much time to compose things in my head while alone and not enough input to refine an idea.

The transformation of our Duke is truly the wonderful part. Raising himself from a setback and becoming a better person is a parable, yes, but it's also a personal story that makes me happy for you.

And there really was a white tiger in my dreams.

*falls out of chair laughing. Shamefacedly ignores the stares of coworkers.*
