Attention to detail, eh?

From an email exchange:

Me: I am applying to grad school and need to know my undergrad class rank.
Mrs. W: "Neti, your class rank is..."
Me: My name is "Neha." Can you confirm that you sent me my rank and not someone else's by accident?
Mrs. W: "Nehi, this is to confirm your class rank."

Does anyone else see the idiocy?

Note my sister's recent car purchase.

My sis: *fills in her name in the forms and sends email* Devyani requests confirmation of delivery date
Car salesman: (has met my sister several times at the showroom) Ok, Mr. Divini, you will receive delivery... (Yes, he really said that)
My sis: I'm MS. DEVYAAA-NI.
Car salesman: Yes, Mr. Divini, the car will be delivered tomorrow.

The official ownership/registration/whatever forms say Mr. Divini. Le sigh.

I was tempted to write back with "Thank you, Mrs. W-[name misspelt]."

Poor D!
