KINGDOM HEARTS 2 IS TEH FUCKING AWESOME!
I bought it yesterday, and instead of studying for my VERY important quiz (which took place earlier this morning) I played 14 hours yesterday. I got to Port Royal in between exploring, training, and a couple of food runs by danny and myself.
Highlights thus far:
- The new main character is a pretty cool guy named "Roxas"
- Sora's not such a pussy anymore
- Kairi done growed up...alot ^_^
- The new girl, Namine', is a cutie too
- Tifa Lockheart (<3 LOVE) is one of the characters you meet
- The new battle System includes "Drives" (Based on Overdrives) and "Limits" (Based on LimitBreaks)
- It also includes "Reactions" which make for some pretty badass battle sequences AND cutscenes
- ...Keira knightley...what more do I have to say
- what more? WHAT MORE!? THE PIRATES SHE WAS WITH!!!
- I got to battle alongside Auron and Squall
- the new disney areas do not disappoint.
- Organization XIII are major players
- Heartless are back with the new enemies, the Nobodies
- Dual weilding Keyblades...WOOT!
- Axel is a badass
- The bosses are nifty thusfar
- did I mention Tifa Lockheart?
- No damn damations...but you do get to skateboard sometimes...
- Magic replenishes after use, faster than before
And now for the weaknesses
- While the battle system is awesome, I've yet to be able to summon
- Item use and Magic casting suring battle has changed a bit
- Sometimes, Limits, Drives, and Reactions interfere with eachother...
- The cure spell is strong...very strong...but uses ALL our magic no matter what.
- Minigames are more confusing than ever
- Some scenes in PotC don't have music, which detracts from the experience (although they did get the real voice actors to do the parts of Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan, and Captain Barbossa!)
- Pete is a pussy badguy
- sometimes, enemies are damn hard to hit no matter what you use on them
- sometimes they also never miss no matter howw you block, dodge, etc...
- I think they got rid of dodgeroll...*sigh*
- and the normal jump system...*double sigh*
- Gummi Ship process is much much different...
- there is not enough AP for even 1/3 of my techniques...and i'm only lvl 23!
- It's also 19878568 times harder to synthesize
Most looking Forward to:
- CLOUD'S BACK!!!
- SO IS SEPHIROTH!!!
- Halloween Town / Christmas Town
- Playing as a Lion in The Pride Lands w/ simba!
- The Final Form drive
- The Colloseum Tournamenets...in Hades
- Finding different summons other than stupidass chicken little...
- I fucking hate chicken little...
- I just had to state that last one...sorry
- TRON!!!
- LIGHT CYCLES!!! (in TRON, but still...badassness)
- seeing the grown up Tidas, Wakka, Riku, etc...
- seeing the younger versions of Yuna, Rikku, and Paine
- Fighting alongside Axel
- Dual Weilding permanantly
- much much more...
I'm very very excited about it all, and overall give the game an A. While I was there, I found out that Zelda was pushed back to September for reasons unknown to mankind...but that Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children was pushed up to April 25th. I put a down payment on it, and reserved a copy!
Tonight i've got some stuff to deal with like classes, work, bills, and the likewise. Afterwards i'll probably try to resist playing KH2, and try to read. Tomorrow though...is one class and then ALL Kingdom Hearts 2 FTW! I have an Exam Tuesday for which I need to study, otherwise I'd play all weekend long.
In other news, my final program for CSCE 1040 is complete!
I should have some finishing touches to put on it, but otherwise, I finished my goal of pattern mine laying, wrote a wait and shoot code, and now i'm pretty much done! That means I basically have no real work of any major subsstance left between now, the competition, and the final exam! Hopefully I'll do well enough and win the contest and get an automatic A in the class. We'll see.
What else? umm...umm...umm.
Not much I guess.
I suppose there's no more news.
Unless you had something else to talk about?
Anyways, My dear friend Jodi Ann Moscone turns 20 tomorrow, so wish her a happy birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (in advance) JODI!!!
and...i'm spent.
Thinking of you
Wherever you are,
David Lucio
