I am on a stash-reduction  budget in my sewing room.  I need some new clothing to wear to events, and I am trying to build all of it from my stash.

I am currently working on a Saxon dress in a lovely soft green linen. ( acquired in a trade with fittzwm ) The seam  embellishments are from my stash - a dark green linen thread, and a dark ( Read more... )

I would say 'yes'! How often on any project do we need to purchase more thread?? Good for you! Cannot wait to see the dress from the stash!! :)

Yes, get another spoon thread. Just be careful that you don't find that bolt of fabric that matches your hair or eyes. Or that bolt of fabric whose color you just love.
By all means get that spoon of thread.

I am sure that the gown be beautiful and color match for you.

Thread doesn't count. I envy you; all the guys need new shirts, so I have to buy a bolt of linen. Otherwise, I think I'm done buying fabric for a while.

I say yes, as thread is more of a tool than part of your stash. Just as if you needed new scissors or needles. What an accomplishment to create it all from your stash. That said, I am envious of your stash.

I'd say you could definately count it. Several of the stash only contests I've seen have let contestants purchase thread and even buttons if needed.

Good for you! I'm looking at the same thing for making new garb for me, the girlchild and impending bebe, and pants for the man.

Making more room+ saving money= double win!
