Sadly, I can't really claim to be a redhead. The red is there but it's more of a hint than a shade and only becomes really noticeable in strong sunlight. My sister is a redhead, but I think my hair started off too blond to ever change much.

Perhaps he only allows gingers on his flist? Like the Red-Headed League, but without the robbery plot. Or possibly with something more diabolical in mind.
