Grunting is not altogether dignified, and hardly suited to you. I should think it would be very impressive to see seven of you growling, however.

I am well enough, thank you. I'm pleased that you've come to visit me. *The unicorn clears her throat, or comes as close to clearing her throat as unicorns ever do.* Can I offer you a saucer of milk? There is usually one lying about here, and it has a way of replenishing itself. I have another feline friend, you see. I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing.

This is my home, yes. I have lived here for as long as I can remember -- which is a very long while, as you may imagine. I have had to leave it on occasion, but I always come back, and as soon as I can.

Disturbed by the thought of Mister Smith tumbling out of any kind of tree, the unicorn trills softly. "I hope you will stay safely grounded, then, unless you promise to be very careful -- or unless you find a way to borrow Bliss's wings!"

"Never fear, dearest lady," he said with a gentle smile. "I don't often find myself up a tree these days. But if the occasion arises, well, I'll do my best to make certain there's a net underneath!"

I love the green of the forest. I have been told that my eyes are full of green, the green of leaves and moss and still water, when I am away from my home. Unicorns may be the oldest and purest color in the world, but we dream of green.
