Well, first of all I must say your writing does not reflect all of us that you mentioned. It transcends our craft and in your work i hear the voices of Robert Bly, German poet Ranier Maria Rilke with hints of New Mexico Award winning poet Jimmy Santiago Baca. Im surprised we have influenced you and honored. We can all learn from each other. With that said Im stunned. Please keep sending me your poems. If you can attach them on word doc and email them to rgarza@bli.com. Oh yea funny you should mention danny, he is my ole fraternity brother. He featured me once at Mcallen Chamber of Commerce for something called La Lunada about two or three years ago. Tito is awesome. Met him in Austin. With that said, read my comment on lonely church poem. When I made a comment at AA that sat in march it was only regarding delivery. Your work is good. Just be yourself. I understand what you mean when you say my writting does not reflect all the people i've mentioned.but i think its because they've all helped me out in diffent ways. For example the don always helps me with not being so tense when i go up he sort of lightens the mood for me. Lady M if it wasn't for her hosting open mic at jitterz i would not have been doing so many open mics or slams daniel garcia ordaz has also helped me with his style of writting he has alot of comedy poems which i truly enjoy reading. stefan and tito both amazing poets and have taught me to never settle on the first verse i've learned several lil tricks from them both amado and la poeta have both helped me amado is a historian and a teacher so he has helped me tremendously i've gathered so many ideas from just conversations i've had with him. and la poeta is probably about my age and she gots an amazing gift when writting especailly about her cluture. and i dont rap to make a statement i write to make my statement and i am being myself with every poem i write and ( ... )
