I read on the side of a coke can that they're a "proud sponsor of active living". And that's when I realized it. I'm not an active live-r at all. I'm a passive live-r. I mean, sure, I eat and stuff, but that's just providing the fuel for living. All the work is done by my body without me having to lift a finger. I even maintain homeostasis ( Read more... )

Consider the source of this inspiration. A company that makes a product that can strip enamel off your teeth faster than you can drink it.

Never believing for a second that Coke has an altruistic bone in their corporate skeleton (flesh has been long removed by exposure to their own product), I imagine "active living" is a lifestyle of stress and exhaustion which inevitably leads to the consumption of more Coke for it's refreshing taste and minor buzz.

Thus in refraining from their live-r-ness, you are subverting the dominant paradigm and creating new hope for the next generation.
