A boy at the middle school around here brought 2 rifles to school. Actually, he lives in Haymarket (the next "town" over) but it reitterates my idea that I want to homeschool Autumn even though I hope to be out of this area by then. yeah, it's freakin' scary.

And this sort of thing only happens in middle class, suburban schools -- the ones that are supposed to be "safer" than the at-risk inner city schools.

We're committed to homeschooling or waldorf schooling all the way. Have you checked out waldorf homeschooling? I think there are a lot of links out there, but I don't have any. I just know a lot of people talk about waldorf homeschooling.

its so sad, scary too. but it also makes me mad that our society lets this happen... why are we allowed easy access to guns?!? grrrr... im ready to go back to Australia LOL
But i know what you mean about homeschooling, we feel the same way, or like someone else say Waldorf (Stiener education or possibly Montissory sp?)

That really is scary! I worried about things like that, just kinda holding my breath til all 3 of my kids graduated from high school. Now I'm nervous all over again, cause my "baby" is going to college this fall. If anyone's ever told them you'll worry about your kids all your life, believe them.
