after nearly a decade, the Falun Gong protest in front of the Chinese Embassy practically across the street from our building just disappeared. no idea why - after 24 hour a day meditation-as-protest for something like 8 years, though, they're suddenly gone. any Torontonians have an idea

Same thing happening here. The City was trying to get the Falun Gong to stop their 24 hour vigil outside the Chinise Embassy.

the protesters are back, but with a new sign - it doesn't say 24 hour protest anymore and it doesn't have any pictures of people who have been tortured.
