Current Characters at Luceti: none yet

Character

Name: Limdo Rowun (Uruki)
Fandom: Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden
Gender: Male, but his powers change him into a female and he can do it nearly at will as long as he’s not seriously injured or otherwise hindered.
Age: 16
Time Period: Between Soren’s funeral and when Limdo finds out the fate of Genbu’s Priestess (mostly because that arc isn’t quite done in canon)
Wing Color: A deep red that appears nearly like the color of blood with a very pale shade of green (so pale it is nearly white) laced throughout it.

History:
Wiki article (he’s the second one, since it lists them all): Link
The last line doesn’t apply since he’s being taken before that happens, but overall, a good concise history and even details some of his abilities. However, it only mentions most of his past and not much of the canon events, so here are some more details:

When Takiko appears in his world for the first time, he’s chained to a large rock as a female. This was his sentence for having killed 1,000 men using his powers in an attempt to kill his father. He had no idea how this girl suddenly got there, or even who she was, but for all that he was a murderer and all, he didn’t want an innocent girl hurt for what he did. He knew demons were coming soon, and while he could fight them off, she could get hurt.

So he told her to run, but the stupid girl instead grabbed a stick and tried to fight them off. True, he had planned to leave anyhow, but he was amazed that someone besides Soren would care about what happened to him. He then broke free and fought off all the demons just as he had planned to do anyhow.
His luck wasn’t too good though, having been out in the cold so long, he found himself with a fever and fell unconscious, still remaining a female. He was carried to the nearest town by the girl who tried to help him, and he was even more amazed by the fact that she was even willing to climb into bed with him, naked to help him.

He sure shocked the poor girl, since as he had slept he had reverted back to being a male. He woke up once he felt her on him. He was a bit mean and commented on how forward she was, completely embarrassing the poor girl who had helped him, so he instead became a woman again to spare her further anguish.

Once he recovered, he found out more about her and realized that she had come from another world. Well, he didn’t care about the fact that he was a Seishi really, he liked the powers, but he was going to use them for personal reasons, not to summon Genbu, and not to get some girl involved in all this. He advised her to go back to her own world before she got herself killed and was about to leave her when they were caught on their way out.
Thanks to the girl, he was able to escape, but she was captured. Once he left, he met up with Soren, his loyal retainer, and they both headed to Kutou where he would be able to hide for a time. He quickly gained the notice of the Prince of Kutou and was invited to join their elite army and given the mission of killing Genbu’s Priestess and Seishi.

Due to this, he kept on meeting up with Takiko and found his resolve to not be a Seishi crumbling fast. Truly, from their first meeting he had really liked the girl, but the more he saw of her, the more he was slowly growing to love her and to want to keep her safe. Even though he joined her enemy, it was not with an ill intent towards her.

It became harder and harder to maintain his guise as a double agent. The other two he worked with were starting to get very suspicious of him and how often he was missing. On top of that, they had declared a hatred for “The Wind Woman” as they referred to her, which was actually him. To protect Takiko, he had fought his own allies.

Eventually he was found out and he had to leave and become Uruki once and for all, so he joined up with Takiko and the other Seishi, at that point he made six, and he had helped her in gaining the aid of each one, especially with Inami, since he had disguised himself as a woman to gain access to the female Seishi.

The Kutou soldiers were still seeking all of them out, however, and had captured Soren. In an attempt to lure out Uruki, as one of the soldiers they had made an alliance with was also one of the assassins seeking to kill Uruki, they used Soren to lure out Uruki. However, Soren instead tricked them and led Uruki to Takiko. This eventually led to Soren’s death.

At that point, nothing could console Uruki, and it didn’t help that in the process of all that, he had gotten seriously injured. He was lucky though, a girl from the Odo clan found him and brought him to a forest where the Kutou soldiers would be unable to find him, since no one will ill intent could enter it. This would be a safe place for him to stay. Takiko and the others found him soon after.

It was only after the girl who found him had given Soren a beautiful funeral that he was finally able to even do much of anything. He was still rather injured though, so they would have to stay for awhile, and having Kutou surrounding them did not help matters at all, especially because Hagus, the man who was after Uruki was among the only two people who could strip all the Genbu Seishi of their powers.

Still, the respite was a good thing for them all, since Uruki wasn’t the only one who needed to recover from injuries at that point, Hikitsu and Inami also did, and Takiko was also ill herself.

(yes, I glossed over some bits of the canon, but they weren’t as important to the development of Limdo in my eyes, so I’d rather not bore by putting excess in. Also, excuse the fact that I tend to mix the terms a bit between the manga and the fansubs of the original FY series. I’m used to the names from the fansubs, like Seishi, Hokkan, Kutou, etc, but prefer the localized names in the manga for the characters.)

Personality:

When first meeting Limdo, especially if anything is known about him, he seems like a very bitter man overall. He can be very callous and straightforward. Truly, very little bothers him. He isn’t afraid of dying, he isn’t afraid of killing others, it really seems there is little this man fears.

However, once someone gets to know him more, they realize that he actually does have a decent heart. He actually does care about people, he just also tends to let his hatred of his father get to him too easily. Anytime he has killed, it has been because he was threatened, or an attempt to kill his father. All in all, he’s sick of the assassins coming after him, and he doesn’t want to see another innocent killed to protect him, like Soren or Soren’s father. And the last thing he wants is for anything bad to happen to Takiko.

He’s more of a cautious person. He doesn’t like to express that he cares about people because he doesn’t want to endanger them. He keeps his actual identity a secret to protect others. At the same time, he’s hesitant to trust, because truly, anyone could very well be someone working for his father.

However, when he does choose to trust in others, he will do anything for them. He doesn’t tend to care much about his own feelings if it means the difference between someone living and someone dying. He’d rather die himself than let someone die for his sake. That more than anything else is why he doesn’t hold back in any attempts against his father. To Limdo, anyone in Touran is one of his father’s people and it doesn’t matter if they die. What matters is that his father dies and his country gets a ruler who actually cares about the people.

Strengths:

- Can be male or female. While he is a female, just above his breasts the Japanese/Chinese character for “woman” appears, it looks like a tattoo, but disappears when he turns back to be a man. The mark itself is a greenish color, since green is the color that symbolizes Genbu.

- Has powers of wind that range from using wind as a slicing weapon against people who attack him and even can be as strong as calling upon a tornado to demolish a whole area. To get an idea, in canon he did kill 1000 people with one use of this power and was actually sentenced to death because of it. The most powerful forms of it do seem to require intense emotion, usually hatred, since both were aimed towards killing his father. He can also use the wind to teleport himself. Also of note, to a degree he can detect auras, mostly this allows him to feel things like evil intent if someone means to do him harm.

- He uses a bladed discus as a weapon also, which is handy when he needs to fight but doesn’t want to become a female to do so.

- He’s very comfortable with the fact that he can change into a female, well except for the part of wearing female clothes, he really hates dresses, a lot.

Weaknesses:

- His powers can’t be used when seriously injured and there is no way for him to use the wind related powers while male.

- He has a very rough time showing softer feelings, but actually does care about people. Overall, he doesn’t care as much about himself and what happens to him, he doesn’t want to involve the people he does care about in this fight between him and his father.

- In his own world, he is very commonly having to deal with assassins from his father, even though this isn’t going to happen in Luceti most likely, he probably will hold some paranoia for at least a time.

- His powers can be nullified by an ability that another Genbu Seishi, Urumiya, holds. While not of importance yet, if there is ever a Hagus or Teg (both are technically Urumiya), that needs to be said.

- He actually dislikes it when people tell him he’s beautiful as a woman. Though he has accepted his Uruki form now, he still identifies himself as a man, not as a woman.
