Apparently there's been several cases of accounts being hacked here. Though, from what I could understand it's more a retaliation against the alleged incompetence of the LJ Abuse team. I can't say that I know this, as I've never managed to piss anyone off... but I was sitting here scared they'd use the info to hack into other places like ebay or

Yeah, someone on my friends list had her LJ hacked, and then from there they took her email address too. I don't know if that was part of what you were talking about or not, but either way, it's ridiculous. :\

it might be the same thing. I heard that LJ is giving away free rename tokens to people with underscores at the beginning of their names due to this.
