The animated icon is too big for LJ's size reqs I made it to fit GJ's 60K limit.

A lot of my favorite Japanese artists have taken down their sites. Some of them because people take their work and spread it all over the internet without asking or even without credit. Unlike the manga tanks that I can get any day of the week, these fanart sites could be down any day and I'd hate for that to happen just because people can't respect the OFP.

If you want to use fanart, use doujinshi. Leave the online stuff alone, please.

I have to admit, I agree. There are far more polite ways of getting you point across and if you like that fanart so much you might as well save it to your HD.

Your reply was more resourceful than a few others; I have seen the_wonkamatic link a few icons to sites before (I think she did it with her last icon dump actually). And to be truthful, it was a joking comment meant for the_wonkamatic, referring to whomever the people were that set her off in the first place (apparently it's been a problematic thing for a while). Gawd. I feel like I'm gonna start ranting; I don't even draw. I be a writer ^^

I'm a writer, too (I can't draw at all :p), but I have a lot of drawing friends, and some of them have art theft problems, so I was just trying to help their cause :p

It'd be nice if everyone could get along. u_u;

I have a new fanart policy. Because I don't have the time to sit here and look for all those sites and since a lot of them are down now...
UH.

Kubo Tite will not stop making his manga even if people use his art for craps without asking him directly, fanartists will Why do you think the sites are down? I've seen way too many hot pages close/locked becouse people where taking their art without permission. Not to mention the fact pretty much all fansites has "please do not take images etc" slapped all over them.

Well you said in your first post that you couldn't give credit to some artists becsoue you coudn't find their page, if you had emailed them (and got a yes answer back) you should've ateast been able to credit their name, so it thew me off.
But it is very nice to know you actually do contact them, few people actually do that :D
