(Randomly reading this write's block)

I think you're mixing up "desire to have children" (1) with "necessity to settle down with someone" (2). I can totally relate to (1) but I disagree with (2). There's absolutely no pressure in having family, and high chance of doing it wrong if you're in a hurry or otherwise "lower your standards".

Agree that starting a family does not have to equal settling down with someone. Especially nowadays when it's not socially unacceptable to be a single woman who's never been married with children.

I think there's nothing wrong with just being happy how you are. If you find someone who makes you happy, then great but if you don't it doesn't have to be any big deal either. I definitely also have relatives that don't seem to understand that I am happy without needing to have some sort of significant other. It definitely bugs.

aye lass , all I can tell ye is that firstly you needn't be so clinical about things , secondly it never hurts to know what you want , but finally ye need to be able to love yourself uncondionally before ye can expect anyone else to do it
