ok, first of all, KONG 0wn3d that list. i'm sure you'll come to terms with it soon. Also, thank you for saying Sin City sucked.

and i don't even really know how good Broken Flowers was the more i think about it.

man, so many let downs. maybe that's why KONG was so good.

the first hour and a half of match point was bad. the last half hour was great.

just watch crimes and misdemeanors. it's the same movie.

thank you for saying sin city was bad!!! its just trashy trash. all gimmick no content, like they missed all the interesting chances for brilliance in adapting a comic book into a film form. but dude. Kong. Ok, it was longer than it needed to be, but i think all the film majors completely missed the point of the movie. its got a lot more depth than i think most people realize. cept jack black was mediocre. but i am never walking alone through a prehistoric jungle ravine ever again.

my biggest problem with kong was the length, too. woulda been a great hour and a half movie. i thought jack black was great, though, but i'm just a big fan of his. kong vs. t-rex was genius. i mean, i enjoyed most of the film, but something was off. i think it was the beginning. very strange beginning and way too long before they got to the island. the slow-mo shots were crap and unnecessary. so was the plot with jimmy the black guy. and i'm pretty sure the whole movie was just racist all around, right? other than that, it was pretty good.

i just bought the original on dvd.

Hour and a half? I don't know... No less than 2 hours would've done it. Besides, they don't see Kong until an hour into the original anyway, the build-up's really equivalent. The slow-mo stuff was ugly, but they must've sacked the editor halfway through (i think the second time Kong picks up Ann, cause that's where the editing took off). Jimmy and the Black Guy (i think they're playing at Higher Ground this weekend) were obviously a bad idea.

But when every movie that comes out nowadays is 2 hours and 20 minutes, i have no problem in granting the extra time to something like this.

the docs on that DVD are worth every penny.

With the exception of a dozen or so of my closest friends and relatives I think the majority of film students should do the world a favor and throw themselves in a pit of acid. The rest of you just need a good cock flogging every so often.
