I just need to say that someone killed himself at my job today. I'm angry because he put a lot of other people at risk with his actions. I know that he must have been feeling like he couldn't go on...but he could have killed others and he has now affected the lives of so many in a horrible way. I feel sad, angry, sorry for those who witnessed it ( Read more... )

so sorry to hear this, especially because others were at risk. i've never known anyone who had this happen at the workplace, although i had friends, years ago, who lost their son this way. the devastation can have so much impact on so many others.

take care...

He jumped from our building right into a busy midtown street. Thank God he didn't hit anyone, or a car. Everyone street level and on the level he jumped from are super affected. As a matter of fact, everyone in the building is affected in some way or another.

I was training a client today whose son killed himself and she had to walk past the body on her way into the gym. In the middle of training her eyes swelled up.

Terrible, Thea. How sad for that person who killed himself that he thought that was the only answer for him. And, horrible for you and everyone else affected. Talk/rant as much as you need as long as it helps you. And, distract yourself too so it doesn't get to be the only thing on your mind.

Thank you. I went through the process. And I'm in a much better place today.

:o) I prayed for him and the young man who works for me who tried to talk him down. I thanked God that he didn't kill anyone else when he jumped and said a prayer for his family and friends.

Good. How is the young man who tried to help? I hope he doesn't feel any sense of responsibility and I hope the family of the person who jumped is getting help to cope with the loss and the shock.
Take care of yourself.
