jogging blog #o4

actually, it should be jogging blog #o4-#o6. yup i've managed to go jogging three times a week so far XD awesome if i say so myself! it's not as hard as it was to make myself jog, but i still have to push myself to get out there. it's getting easier tho :D

i went jogging on the wednesday (i think it was wed???) the 5th before golden week ended...

date: wed, 5th may. ...or at least sometime during golden week... i think o.o;
time: 6-pm-ish? arg i forget. it could've been earlier.
what i did: inhaler as recommended, warm up 5-7 min walk, stretch, alt 60sec jog 90sec walk for 20 mins, walked home, stetched.

my chest wasn't on fire. good sign :D i didn't push myself way to hard by trying to run faster. i have to keep reminding myself to keep it easy and keep jogging as a gradual thing. i'll get faster later. now, i'm just building up my muscles and getting my body used to jogging regularly. it was easy i felt. i sweat more when i'm riding my bike somewhere. got my foot wet when i tried crossing the river on the stepping stones i have so i walked home with a soggy foot XD i didn't really think ahead that time. i felt good about this jog overall.

date: sun, 9th may
time: 6pm-ish. i had to force myself to just go since i kept dilly-dallying around the home. it was a good break from lol.
what i did: inhaler, warm up walk, didn't stretch, alt 60sec jog 90sec walk for 20 mins, walked home, stretched at the end only.

again, no fiery chest! kept it steady and i decided not to stretch after the warm up, opting to only stretch afterwards. no pain but i think i should keep up stretching after the warm up. seems healthier. was a mostly relaxing jog. when i've been doing this jog, as soon as it starts getting a tiny bit difficult, my jog interval ends XD i've been focusing on breathing smoothly too. this 60sec jog/90sec walk thing was getting kinda easy. good thing for my brain and body. if i think it's easy, it won't be so hard to push myself to go out XD again i got wet. but this time it was both feet as i couldn't jump over part of the river that decided to flow onto the first step. walked home with two soggy feet XD i have to admit, it felt nice and relaxing tho. one day i'm going to take pics of the river/course i run :D too bad there's no more sakura and tulips :(

date: today! wed, 12th may. it was raining yesterday and i take at least one day break after jogging day.
time: 5:10pm-ish
what i did: inhaler as recommended, warm up 5-7 min walk, stretched!, alt 90sec jog 2min walk for 23(?) mins, walked home, stetched.

so now i know that if i don't try to run fast and jog at a good pace, there's no chest on fire sensation :D it was actually quite easy to push myself out there today. maybe it's coz i've been watching my students do track and field and the like at school lately. i wanna be able to run with them sometime. i was worried about the 90sec jog interval but when i really thought about it, 60 secs wasn't too hard. and i had a 2min break XD today felt easier than last week. so i guess i can do this 90sec jog thing all week. it was so easy i went past the 20 min mark for one more interval of jogging. next week the jog interval'll increase again.

it was really windy today so i was a little cold at the start. i was worried i'd freeze out there but i didn't. i noticed that my achilles tendon was hurting a little when i started jogging. i need to work that one out. looks like stretching is key to that. so i'm placing a lot of importance on stretching from now on... and especially after reading about how important it is. i decided that the stretches on the cool runnings site wasn't really doing it for me so i'm looking around for a good set of different stretches.

hopefully i'll be out jogging on friday or something and that the weather holds up.

i'm pleased with how i've been going. i like taking it easy with jogging. it eases me in and gives me more confidence with jogging. i hope i can keep this up *fingers crossed*

in other news, i've got myself plane tix to the philippines. i'll be there from june 11-18 (fri-fri). had to take leave from work for it. after this i doubt i'll be taking leave anymore. i'm kinda excited about it :D i need to go and book bus tix to narita and back too. or something. i haven't decided how i'm getting back home from narita yet. maybe i'll just go hang in tokyo for the weekend before work.

i also made some k-on money for school. when my students heard they kinda went nuts with trying to get money off me. i ran out of notes today and i made, like, 120 notes yesterday. and i got a lot of "can i swap this for the k-on money????" XD lawl i <3 my students.

i've been doing more fitness stuff lately and it's been awesome. i went for a kick-about with a soccer ball, afl footy, and rugby footy on sat arvo for a few hours. i did it again on monday minus the rugby ball. good fun :D
