You know, every little thing that you can do and do do is better than not doing them. If local is not Local, is it better to burn up the gas? Not driving so far is, in itself, a help.

This is my line of thinking, for the most part. I can't seem to stop the little twingey of guilt, though.

Publix is very good about ordering things if they can. AND they call to let you know if they can't get things (for some reason, for example, they can't get pocky -- Bryn requested it from them).

I figure I win *some* points for growing some of our foods, too... not a lot. I was very successful with kale and lettuce... and my rosemary is gorgeous.

I love our local "ReStore" as well - was just mentioning that to J. over the weekend.

I do, too, and it has been a lesson in lettng go of ego. No, I will NOT have furniture that matches.
