Cleitus, done with drill practice, decided that it was time to go visit Leonnatus. By that time it was already late afternoon, but Cleitus knew the man would still be there at work no doubt looking over various reports and other things that strain the eye. He had walked his horse to the stable and left him there. Then he began his trek up toward the palace, he entered the hallways, greeting several people cheerfully. He somehow kept himself from stopping to talk to anyone for he did not want to get distracted from his intended visit

Leonnatus brightened when he heard the knock. His mind raced as to who it would be. He had his suspicions of course but he braced himself for a frontal assault on the door should it be Cleitus. He smirked with amusement and attempted to hide his excitement. Leonnatus stepped softly to hide the sound of his footsteps. Then he paused in thought for a second and lunged at the door and in one motion opened the door quickly to see Cleitus bent towards the door in the action of listening intently. Leonnatus smiled broadly at catching Cleitus unawares and no sooner did Cleitus’ eyes widen in surprise than he was sent to the floor landing on his back. "I am pleased to see you Cleitus, dear friend", exclaimed Leonnatus as he bent down and kissed Cleitus on the forehead. " I hope you are as inclined to see me", he snickered, obviously enjoying his friends surprise. He looked a bit more serious. " I don’t like sitting here not knowing if my friends will come back". "At the very least not knowing their condition"
