On L'Hopital's Rule

Me: I have to take the car to the dealership tomorrow, and since the van's not driveable, and since it's really far and dealership won't drive me back, I have to stay there for like 5 hours. So I'm taking my calc textbook. I'm going to learn about l'hopital's rule in a fucking car dealership.

5 hours in a car dealership? I'll teach you L'Hopitals rule right now. Make sure the limit is an indeterminate form, like 0/0. Your book will have them listed, I think there are 5-6.

Then take the derivative of the numerator, the derivative of the denominator, stick the limit in again, and voila.

Like this.

lim sin(x) / x
x->0

That's 0/0. But take the derivative of the top and bottom and you get

lim cos(x) / 1
x->0

which is 1.
a perfectly acceptable answer.
