I finally join society by purchasing an ipod, go to bed thinking my new music machine is happily charging only to discover upon waking that one of my cats had chewed the USB wire into 3 separate pieces and destroyed the earbuds for dessert

The shooting happened 5 (small) blocks away from where I live! I'm fine (and I was at work when this happened), of course, but wow, how very sad for a lot of people today.
