[This is on, like, Wednesday, at midnight. As always, her voice is marred by faint static, but this time the air raid sirens can be heard in the distance as well.]

Typically, they signal an impending air strike and serve as a sign to take shelter.

Here, I am uncertain.

Perhaps they are merely a form of psychological warfare.

I believe they are triggered manually by an individual who observes for that sort of thing.

So, I imagine these, also, are triggered manually, though with the consistent schedule, perhaps not.

I'd imagine the sirens will stop when there's no one left to alarm.

In other words, they'll never stop.
