At my old job, part of our performance review was "respecting confidences" (i.e., keeping your mouth shut about shit that is for your ears only). This is a skill at which more people should endeavor to excel.

For some reason, many peeps cannot recognize when they are hearing something in confidence among close friends. Get better at this important skill, Houston. For some odd reason, even the business world seems to think it important enough that they base your fucking pay on it.
