yes, i'm studing there next semester, so ill be there ~5 months.
why?
-i get bored of being in america
-i'm majoring in religious studies, and i tend to focus on islam and the senegalese practice a blend of sufi (islamic mysticism, think whirling dirvishes) & voodoo so i'll be studying that
-senegal is francophone, and i will be studying at a french university there. so part of the reason is to get better at french speaking, i read and understand it well, but i tend to be a shy and clumsy speaker.
-senegal has boababs, the tropical casamance region and also borders the sahara which i will prolly spend a week with viki renting camels and camping across.
-all american music, jazz, rock, etc comes from the senegal/mali region folk and i love it. also they make really cool art films you'd like.
