A few thoughts about LJ

Actually LJ has a feature that allows you to place your friends in security groups and you can lock a given post to only a specific group. If you go to the top of the page and highlight Journal and then click on the elipsis next to Friends beneath it, then you will find a page that lets you set that up.

BG already does, and one of my brother's friends got into quite a bit of a mess over it. Ended up changing his journal name and locking more posts.

There are many uses to LJ ... And not everyone wants to meet new people through LJ.

Also, just note that the "custom" friends settings have a limit of 30 groups I believe. I'm not sure what happens to the entries that were under a custom name if you delete that group to make room for another one.

*There are many uses to LJ ... the obvious being just that, a journal, a place to talk about whatever you want whenever you want to, a place to vent even or tell the tale of a funny situation that happened during the day. My friends and I have also used it as an invitation device over the summer to help plan a get together/hang out/movies whatever. And sometimes it's just a great thing to use if you don't happen to have a paper-version to-do-list (or ... well can't find it) Stuff like that.
