I always try to separate that line out when I hear it. "Roman cavalry, choirs are singing." It just sounds so odd otherwise, even if it's meant to be ironic. That's just what it made me think of--historical figures bursting into song.

I see your "Viva La Vida" and raise you "Violet Hill," by far the best song on the radio now. Well, next to Radiohead's "All I Need."

Roman potluck OMG. I am planning on taking time off for the Homerathon, once I find out how long it's going to be. I heard it wasn't going to be an all-nighter this time...

It's not going to be an all-nighter! We are muchly sad. It's suppose to start "about" 8 and end "about" 8 with a showing of O Brother, Where Art Thou? afterwards. And of course, Lombardo at ... 1? 2? Can't remember.

I haven't heard any of the other Coldplay songs.... just saw so many people referencing Viva La Vida that I had to listen to it myself. *Goes in search of Violet Hill*

OK, so it's an all-dayer instead. :) Hopefully I'll have enough PTO to make that work. If not, I'll try to get off at noon and drive up. It's not a long trip to get to Allendale from work.

I'm destroying pretty much all my PTO at the end of the week for my cousin's wedding and schlupping around in Nevada/Colorado. Woo?

"Violet Hill" is just amazing. It's a good song in its own right, but the lyrics make it. I especially like the part that goes, "Bury me in armor/When I'm dead and hit the ground/My nerves are poles that unfroze." The guitar work is nifty, and I like how the song starts out soft, turns loud and pounding, and then drops off into simple piano right at the end.
