the word translates as "action" as in "anything you do" and karma as a process means just what you said: anything you do has reaction that come as a result of doing something.
It's action in the sense that, no matter what you do, something will come as a result, even if it's inactivity. Karma, I'm afraid, got a spooky NEW AGE bullshit slant because of the f*ckin' "love generation" and their gall-dern hippy pot smokin' free love blah blah here in the West. We tend to only take in itsy bitsy parts of things and then pervert them into something they were never meant to be, in this case, karma.
That was my crotchety old man rant for the day.
