Ideas to stick with:
- Underlayer beings, i mean duh
- Concepts of Angels and Demons
- However, given a more physical and literal sense?
- Work out how they play into mythology and folklore, use areas with more frequent supernatural traffic as 'abnormal'
- Some kind of War, or general feud between the two that requires fucking around with humans
- Dependancy on Humans, and the overall nature of the Overlayer.
- De-evolution from the intitial design
- Intentionally made less powerful?
- Brainwashed into slavery?
- Some kind of powerhold over underlings, whether spiritual or physical-- a reward can be freedom?
- Familiars granted to some humans (the exception, the rule generally is that a demon is forcefully banded to the Human, and has to negotiate with the respective sides' King in order to be freed??? Not usually a good idea, so the humans' death is usually plotted despite the bond)
- Paranoia and sabotage frequent
- Eventually a method is created for pulling beings from the Underlayer without the aid of Gods-- possibly through custom-made beings that would eventually start the genetic trend for Magic/Power manipulation (wizards/witches/mages/etc)
- Neither side can pull entities from the Underlayer themselves-- otherwise they get pulled back in? Maybe.
- Integration into normal society, work out how much of day-to-day life can get away with supernatural tendencies.
IN OTHER NEWS: Slaves and World Powers.
OMACARO IS GROWING ON ME and I think I like it for the possible origin of Mathias and Daven, and would loosely be based on a Middle East/Indian/Native American (I think I am remembering correctly when i say Pueblo) and also some influences of Aztec and other South American cultural influences.
Daven would have ended up as the patron God, because Mathias hates having the spotlight on him and despite his brothers' dumbassery he would tell him what to do enough that he could run the sons of bitches untill he eventually, like all the other Gods, has to fade away and let things run themselves.
Having previously been The Sickness and The Cure, I like to think that this civilizations' belief structure and culture is based on the kind of 'two extremes' yinyang stuff like from Caspica (Winnifred's City) AGH NO THIS SOUNDS WAY TOO SIMILAR I need to think of better things before i just let my fingers fly away like this.
But uh, yeah, Slaves would eventually come from this area cause Daven is actually really terrible at fighting and these people would not have a very strong military system or method of defence. HOWEVER they would be resilient to most if not all diseases???? THIS TIES IN WITH THE CURE FUCK YES.
Buuutttttyeah, Mathias would hate it and would throw himself into the political world of the more major countries as a tool of assassination and espionage. HE LIKES BEING AN URSURPER ASSHOLE WHAT CAN I SAY.
Iiiiiii will have to think over the countires a bit more, also fucking WORK OUT THIS ANGEL AND DEMON SHIT IT STILL SEEMS LAME AND SKETCHY AUGH.
