Lots of pillows or just one?
For reading in bed, about 4 or 5. For sleeping, just 2. But they are really soft squishy almost flat pillows.
What kind of books do you read?
Popular science and maths, mostly, the occasional feminist rant thrown in for good measure. The last book I read was Bad Science by Ben Goldacre which was ace, and has made me jump into Big Pharma by Jacky Law.
What's the weirdest thing you've seen today?
A gigantic roll of pink bubblewrap. I nicked it and put it on my desk because it amuses me.
ZOMBIES OR ROBOTS: Which apocalypse is scarier?
Robots because it seems more plausible.
What's really creepy?
Male IDM fans. Sheesh. What a creepy, stalkerish, rapey lot. They almost made me hate music for a while there.
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
I am currently without an obsession, which makes me really sad. I was doing quite well with the Aphex Twin one until the horrible creepy IDM boys just did my head in, and now I can't really look at that fandom the same way.
Cake or cookies?
Ice cream?
What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Twitter, ILX, Erol Forum (though I am trying desperately to give it up), Flickr
What was the last thing you bought?
Lunch. A tricolore wrap from Make It Mine
How do you think you'll die?
Stasticially most likely death for me, considering my medical history: suicide. It's something I try not to think about, but it's always there, in the back of my mind. (Especially after a high profile suicide getting reported in the media, as happened recently.)
Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
Chocolate. All the time. But this weekend was weird, I was actually craving aubergine.
What do you do to change your mood?
Listen to music. Turn off the computer (if I can, if I'm not at work.) Make a cup of tea.
What was the last meal you ate?
That wrap.
Do you want to learn another language?
I keep trying to learn new languages, then giving up because I don't have anyone to talk to in English, let alone in Turkish or whatever.
Five things you can't live without.
1) My laptop
2) My sketchbook
3) A diary
4) Some way of playing music
5) A crush
Find the closest book currently sitting near you and flip to page 54. What is the first sentence of the second paragraph?
"Companies in the US were now spending around $16 billion a year visiting doctors, a practice more commonly known as detailing, because reps get to run through how the details of how a new drug works and why it is better than anything that went before it." (the aforementioned Big Pharma)
What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
Said it all on twitter this morning:
You always used to defend me, even if you didn't take my side, and now you don't. And I miss that. Where did we go wrong?
You took something out of context that was me being mad at something else, and decided I was slagging off you, and that was it.
You didn't let me explain, you didn't want to hear it, you just turned on me. And I want you to turn back but it won't happen so why bother?
What are you looking forward to?
Not much at all. I suppose I'm looking forward to the Shimura Curves album coming out, but I'm not really sure why. It's not like anything will happen. I doubt anyone will even notice, let alone buy it or review it. But at least it's a line drawn beneath a certain period of my life.
