HELP! Need photo storage advice

Dec 16, 2016 09:00

So Dropbox is doing away with their public folder which is where ALL my fic art is hosted.

Some folks are going to Photobucket but I was wondering where other folks host their graphics and the pros and cons of each.

My art needs to be moved fairly quickly so if you could drop a comment here that would be awesome.

Thanks

I've been using Imgur for many years. It's fairly simple to use.
They do limit the number of images per folder that you can see to 225 images, but they don't limit the number of folders, so it's basically unlimited as long as you stay a little organized. Also, if you exceed the 225 images in one folder, it's not deleting the old ones, they're just not visible in the folder anymore, but the links still work (so it doesn't screw any old links if you happen not to be organized).

Never had any issue with it, so never had any reason to look elsewhere.

just to clear my confusion: are we talking about the "home" folder, the one that appears first when you open Dropbox in your browser? If yes, then phew, I don't have so much pics there, so it won't be a lot of work to change the links - once I tracked them all down XD ( ... )

My understanding was that they were doing away with the "Public" folder, which was a folder automatically created if you started an account early-ish in their website life. However, things uploaded and linked outside of the Public folder would still work.

I have all kinds of stuff that's hosted publicly that's not in the "Public" folder, so I was just going to move the files I do have in there out and update the links I can find (who knows where some of that stuff is posted, LOL).
