Hey sweetie - oh my goodness, I just got your comment. I haven't been near a computer long enough to check LJ in... suffice it to say ages. I've been thinking of you though, ever since we first heard about Katrina. When I flew into Guayaquil, I could see the outer bands. Scary. I'm so glad you got your dad out, and I have been thinking of you constantly since I heard about the MRI and surgery. How is everything going? Is he okay? I miss you guys SOOOOO much. Please say hi to evie and laura and ryan and laura and jon for me. Things are well down here, I am healthy, safe, and making a 94 in French. Best of luck with the family situation... again, I'm so sorry, and you're in my prayers.
All the love in the world.
Besos...

OMFG, I hated that bus!!!

Refer to my entries of like, spring '03 to see my lovely experiences in el ecuadorcito.

Does Jorge still teach the Friday class? Tell him you want to go to his house. It was really nice. And he kept giving us food and this one kid drank like a gallon of coconut juice and had to piss every 10 minutes for like 3 days straight.

Oh, and the mutiny! It was lovely! I think I referred to it as a "revolution" at the time. I'm sure Pericles has probably graduated by now, but maybe Rudy (the field trip guy) is still around? He's way fun at the bar. And he'll always let you bum a smoke.

Ah, ecuador. I need to get out of this counrty....

Many spanks,
BBC ;)

haha -
So I guess I didn't realize that you and I did the same program... freaky. Yeah, Jorge still teaches the Friday class, and it's still boring as shit. He cancelled class last week for the Cuenca trip and next week for the Quito trip, and again in Ecuador for the Galapagos though, so it's alright. And he's going to take us to a coffee plantation.
A lot has changed in UEES. Rudy is still around, but we got 4 new buses (Mercedes, with air conditioning even!), so the rides are more bearable. UEES is a school for preppy pretty girls who don't have anything better to do with their money and asshole guys who are going to be tour guides and "businessmen." So as usual I'm at the top of the class and not studying at all for anything. But my work at the foundation is cool - I'm going to try to start a choir at my school for street kids.
Hope all is well up North... it's hot as balls down here, so enjoy the cold.
