I miss forcing students to write a 1/2 page opinion of journal topics that they find completely uninteresting.  For old times sake, I have posted a number of quotes that have to do with living an honorable life.  Shock the hell out of us and write a response.  Do you agree or disagree with them?  Which is your favorite?

Honorable is right! _brattykids_ August 28 2004, 16:27:12 UTC
If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.

Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

That is my favorite...Its so true! When you are dishonest about anything you have to stress out over who you told what? How you told it? When you told it? Who can't know it? Thnings like that just make you a mess.

I have personally lived a life of dishonesty and I cannot remember a more uncomfortable and hard to live life.

If you live a life of honesty you have always said the right thing no matter how "real" it is...no one can say a thing about it because it came true from your heart.

ocsar wilde.... amusing.
it's true, the nicer you are to someone who doesn't like you the more annoyed and the less they like you. then they end up not liking themselves for not liking you for seemingly no reason at all. then you get a kick out of their fustration and continue being as nice as you possibly can without breaking into laughter. i use it all the time, and it works very well.

Congrats Mike on your revelation!!
It is a great quote. I hadn't quite thought of forgiveness that way myself.

AY omg, you should totaly do oneof these once a week. i miss havin a journal :(

i agree with all of those quotes.
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)

i like that one the most because i notice a lot of people pretend to forgive, or think they forgive, or maybe even say they have just to look good, but a lot of people don't understand what if really REALLY means to acually forgive someone, to not hold something against them. it takes a very strong person to do that.

Wow Nay...that was deep! Your journal for school was always so funny! I remember laughing when I read it because nothing was on topic and occasionally you would write something like, "if you just read this page you wasted 30 seconds of your life!" ha ha ha

I really like the last four. I think that Szasz's is taken out of context way too often.
Um... I'll need more time to write a proper response. I have to get to my THEATRE CLASS now.
