I'm really sorry for this, but I've been reading the most interesting articles in the the last few issues of The New Yorker I've received...

First, Jennifer Philbin, a writer for The OC, was driving home from work one day and craned her neck to view an accident and in turn just barely tapped the Saab in front of her. There was no visible damage, ( Read more... )

I subscribe, too! And I enjoyed both those pieces. Admittedly, I started to tear up when reading that last line spoken by the cop. I worked at the Red Cross Welcome Center for hurricane victims set up in New York last weekend, and it felt good to help out a few families. Out of respect for their privacy and dignity, I didn't ask any questions, but I did my best to convey that same idea spoken by the cop -- that my heart goes out to them.
