Faker presumed named their band because they thought they weren't fake. This is intended irony.
Now, if they're actually fairly derivative and inauthentic, does their name have double irony?
This is a serious linguistic question. Does double irony exist? Kerryn, help me out.

The true irony is that they really are fake... therefore it's not ironic that they're called faker, because they are... The second will cancel out the first.
