I've recently become really aware of how easily I pick up other people's turns of phrase. I'll find myself mid-way through an expression or intonation that sounds just like someone I know and suddenly wonder why.

That U2 song commits the cardinal sin of lyric writing.
ie. using the word "thee" to force a rhyme.
It has the line "who's gonna fall at the foot of THEE".
Who says "thee"???? What is this, the King James Version of Achtung Baby???

this is like Jasper's bad songs getting stuck in his head thing, subconsciously you like U2 and it escapes when your brain isn't watching

I don't sing along, the only music which makes me want to sing is stuff by Sting or Billy Joel, and I can't sing high enough to sing along with either of them.

I don't call me lord of the undertones for nuttin'

Everyone should sing along to U2. OK, everybody except a few tone deaf people.
