I'd left the office early, thinking I'd go home and call Ken Patridge, and see about the paperwork involved in buying the house on Chapel Street. However, I ran into Mal Evans on my way out of NEMS, and he'd thrust a brown paper bag into my hands, mumbling something about "George asked me for..."

I rang the bell and waited to be buzzed in. Ever since George and Ringo had been mauled by girls outside the place, security had tightened. Thankfully, really because it would never do for a raid to happen and for Brian's flat to be broken into.

"Care for a drink, Peter?"

"As well as can be expected, the amount of work I have to do after that debacle with the fan club." I sighed. "Did I tell you I'm buying a house?"

I poured him a brandy and topped my own off, handing him the glass. My eyes caught the paper bag, and I stiffened, wondering if I should remove it from the room or not. It wasn't the sort of thing one should simply leave lying around, but I hadn't been expecting company.
