I really (really) hate to get drawn into the morass of "someone is wrong on the internet", but this review of Season Of The Witch was enjoyable enough, and well enough written, for a big factual error to raise hackles up and down my spine like a low-budget CG effect ( Read more... )

That was the first Crusade wasn't it?

Taking out the European pagans in the East before they wanted the Holy Land back s they didn't have to pay money to the Muslim rulers for the spice trade.

And really want to get one a shirt "I can't sleep now! SOMEONE IS WRONG ON THE INTERNET!". :D

The documentary "Europein the Middle Ages" mentions something about Lithuanian campaigns (or my memory might be fuzzy). But you're right, it's not mentioned often and then people start spouting uninformed posts like that.

Maybe the reviewer is a re enactor who got upset because the film art department confused an older style Crusader cross with a Templar cross and then again with a Teuton cross.

I've noticed there is a lot of bagging of this film in re enactor groups for getting the insignias mixed up.(amongst other things LOL)
