Well, I don't know much about Harriet Miers, but of course if she supports abortion (as I think she does), then she's a bad choice.

I guess you didn't want to tell about the white hair . . .
Hehe. I have had one, too. It's crazy.

I'm curious...why do you think she supports abortion? Everything I've heard seems to point to her being against it...So I'm just curious where you got that information. I think it's interesting how the conservatives are so divided over Miers. I confess I don't really understand it, but that's because I haven't had the time/taken the time to investigate.

Oh, I don't know that she supports it--I thought from what Joel said that she might, and then it seems I might have heard my family say that. But Joel said she actually doesn't seem to support abortion. So it was my mistake. But she does seem to flip flop on things.

I'm sorry you had to go to McDonalds again... I used to eat there so much, and it is on rare occasion that I eat there now. Unhealthy. Pre-made. Too much bread and potatos. blah.

I really do not know what I think of Harriet Miers. I haven't researched her enough to come to any conclusions... but the whole idea of a woman as a nominee for the Supreme Court does not fly with me too well.

Hurah for Texas?! How long are you going to be there?

I'm excited for my upcoming visit to Texas as well. Just think. Next week! =) And I'm going to get to see so many dear friends while I'm there!

Yeah, exactly! I ended up just eating about half the bread and 3/4 of the fries. The chicken was okay -- I think. =?

Well, I have to admit that I'm a bit of a pragmatist when it comes to women filling such positions. I'd rather have a constitutionally-minded, godly woman justice than an unconstitutionally-minded, ungodly man justice. My brother-in-law (working for VF) would be very unhappy to hear me say that! :P Ah, well, I don't really care. But, I do think that being a woman does disqualify someone from the position. Mixed feelings there. ...

What's up with the "?"? Of course, hurrah for Texas! =) I'll be there only until 2nd--I mean--Monday.

Ah, was I supposed to know about your trip? What time next week? That'll be cool, I'm sure.

Heh -- I think I'm become a faster typist these days. =)

I am only half here.. (long day)... but I'm catching up on comments, so...

The question mark was a typo. Ack. =) I noticed it afterwards, but was too lazy to delete to the comment and re-write it.

I'm hoping you're having a good time while you're gone... but I've missed your comments just the same. =)

I don't know if I mentioned it in detail, but yep. I'm heading down to Texas Wednesday evening with Venessa, Melody and Summer. Joanna and her older sister are coming to the wedding as well, so I'm looking forward to getting to see them in a few days! =)

How many words can you type a minute?

Just to clarify something ... I highly respect my brother-in-law, Michael, but he is as fallible as any man. We have excellent agreement on most things, yet I'm certainly not timid about disagreeing with him.

The visit was splendid! Thank you.

OK, I didn't make the connection between the wedding and your visit to Texas. So you get to play the piano?

Typing ... I'm at about 50 wpm. That's not so great, but not bad either. Let me guess ... You do like 70 wpm? 80 maybe?

I don't think Women should hold any kind of office.

It did. Here I am in Texas, enjoying my stay with the Gobarts! Their cat Pixie had to hop onto my lap. Cats. =)

Well, that's the most obvious problem with the Miers nomination: that she's a woman. But, her beliefs (or lack thereof) are what trouble me the most. She's supported (after her professed conversion) the International Criminal Court and "gay" adoptions, and also she's worked WITH the Texas lottery commission.

Taco Bell is OK. What's your favorite item from there? I really like the new Crunch Wraps.

Ahh, Coolies! How's the weather in Texas? :)

Yep. I heard today on the news that she dropped out. :) Yea, her belief's troubled me alot too. Just what we need is another person in office to support the wicked organizations, etc.

Okay?!?!?!!?......OKAY!?!?!?! Taco Bell is AWESOME!!!! I love their Cheesy Gordita Crunches and their Chicken Baja Chalupas. :-D

Sorry, I missed your question, so you'll have to excuse my late answer. ...

The weather is EXCELLENT! It was slightly on the cool side several nights, but otherwise it could hardly be better. It's been in the 60's and 70's.
