Well, here's a little poem that I wrote over two years ago that I was editing yesterday. It still needs some work and has a few rough spots, but I hope it'll be a blessing, even so. ...

Somehow my life seems very much not like the way it should be.
What is wrong with me?

Bethany, it's good (and right) that you recognize areas in your life that need to be changed! I trust that's the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. We all need to see our deficiencies and change in certain ways, I'm sure. Did you see that previous quote? "The nearer a man lives to God the more intensely has he to mourn over his own evil heart."
If the poem made you think about that... Well, I'm using emphatic and almost hyperbolic (or exaggerated) language that makes it sound like Christians are practically perfect, maybe somewhat like the Apostle John did in I/II John.
I've noticed that lots of songs have words like that. They are convicting at times. There's a song that says, "...praising my Savior all the day long!" Is that normally true? I fear that it is not often true! :-(

Well, it's like I know my life should sound really good, like the second half of the poem, but to me it often seems like I'm more like the first half.
Hey, I like it that you used my name. My sisters and I were just talking about using peoples name when we talk to them, it really makes us feel special - like we are.
:-) :-( Joel, you into noses? j/k

As they say...
A friend of a friend is a friend,
An enemy of a friend is an enemy,
A friend of an enemy is an enemy,
And an enemy of an enemy is a friend. :-) (That reminds me of multiplication and negatives and positives, somehow. :-P)

The quote is thought-provoking. Where do you find your quotes, anyway?
