(Sam [kewlsam1990], I haven’t forgotten your random story tag...)
Speaking for myself, since last year LJ has become much less active. For one thing, people have been missing, like Aaron and Johanna. :( Hopefully they’ll be back sometime.
EncouragementAnyway, you should know that everyone on LJ has been encouraging in many ways.

Good question! (I am actually the only person allowed to ask questions on LJ, and I don't recall you asking for my permission, (that is the one permissable question).
He wasn't sad about His sins since He didn't have any, He may have been sorrowful about our sins and the affect that they have on the world and the people in it. In that case, we should probably be sad in some ways, but keeping in mind that God is in control.
But what if that isn't what it means? I have a feeling that it doesn't mean that. *arg* *scrunches mind* *scrunches face*
Hmm, I guess I should have put this first, but to ask that question, we have to first ask what "sorrow" means there, and what it means to be a "man of sorrows", before we ask what it means that Jesus was a man of sorrows.

I am actually the only person allowed to ask questions on LJ, and I don't recall you asking for my permission... Haha. Who said you're the only one who can ask questions? I'm getting better at it.
I appreciate your thoughts. Everything needs to be balanced with statements like, "Rejoice in the Lord always." But, I think you're on to something when you say that we should be sorrowful over sins...

There are so many questions we could ask about anything, I always find it hard to find the proper balence between asking enough to make me think without asking so many to were I just make myself get confused.

Well, the obvious answer to the first question (at least, the one that popped into my head first!) is because He bore the sins of the world. That is a sorrowful load to carry. Additionally, like someone else said, He was sorrowful because his heart was heavy for the lost. And yes, we should have a burden for the lost, too! It's something I don't cultivate enough...It's so easy to get caught up in my own "safe" world and become cold-hearted. Instead, I should be full of mercy, as Jesus was.

The question that occurs to me is: "Is it ever right to be sorrowful about our situation?" Is that the result of selfishness? Certainly there's nothing wrong with missing someone or sorrowing over being separated from them... So that answers my own question. :) Jesus was exceedingly sorrowful over the separation that was to come at the cross between Him (as a Man) and God. That, of course, was the result of our sins being placed upon Him. Hmm, still thinking about that...
There're always more questions. What is the balance between grieving over the lost, wickedness, and hardness of heart and rejoicing always in the Lord? In any case, the sorrow and rejoicing stem from the same thing: a delight in God and passion for His glory. We sorrow that others don't know and love Him, because we desire God to be praised of all and that others have the same wonderful relationship with Him. I'm just writing down some current thoughts. 'Still thinkin' about that, too. :)
