Lunch And Hurricanes

Aug 31, 2005 13:43

Lunch was at a Tai restaurant. It bothers me somewhat to be in a place like that, filled with pictures and images of gods and goddesses. There’s even a dish of food left out as an offering for the gods. However, perhaps it’s no different than going to a Wal-Mart, Publix, or some other supermarket where they have disgusting pictures and magazines ( Read more... )

For the life of me, I can’t make myself cry! Nothin’. I guess I’m just heartless.
Lol

Yes, I noticed that about the casinos, too. =|

Lol, the last question for that last Candid Camera idea is pretty funny.

Not to say that there were no Christians in the area of the hurricane (and with damage done), though. I'm sure there were.

Yes... I prayed for them. 'Hope they all had enough sense to leave, if they could.

I suspect this is true, although I don't know for sure. Someone sent this quote to me from Olive Tree Ministres.

"Hurricane Katrina is America's tsunami though you might not know that unless you're watching Fox News. What you won't hear anywhere is that this week New Orleans was to observe "Southern Decadence Day with 100,000 homosexuals gathering there to commit unspeakable acts in public. Previous events were photographed and sent to the mayor and police officials but they did not care. They had their own lust: The $100,000,000 the event brings in.

Gambling casinos took a hit on the coast as this is where the eye of thestorm hit."

Wow! That is really telling...And shocking.

Huh, that's very interesting about the plans of the sodomites! I've not heard that before. Sick days we live in...

Your Candid Camera ideas are great. :-D My family used to love trying to come up with ideas for that show. We had a few great ones but I didn't write them down so I don't remember them now. Oh, well.

lol, those are actually pretty funny. ;-)

I am personally hoping that America is more like an Isreal or Niniva, in that it can come to repentance rather than God having to take every good person from that place so that he can rain down his judgement upon it.

Well, we never know exactly what the future will be, do we? The Bible gives us clues, but not many clear details about the timing of things.

There may yet come another great revival in this country. Christians should be praying for that, certainly. (The revival needs to start with God's people, really, though!) If there is a revival, I think we have reason to believe that judgment will temporarily be averted. But, even in Israel's case and Nineveh's case, judgment still eventually came...

(Personally, I'm not sure what you believe about eschatology, but I believe the Bible teaches a final seven-year judgment of the earth.)

Personally, eschatology is something I am just learning more about, specifically as it applies to this kind of stuff. My Eschatology always has been relatively simple, but it's not really developed enough to say anything definitive.

I think judgement is always inevitable, but I do not know if that judgement needs to be bad. In whatever case, eventually, and I imagine sooner than we want, Christians can look forward to something great. :-)
