Starbucks, Dinosaurs, and Sci-Fi

Well, some of you have been too quiet recently (especially the guys). You know who you are, guys. =D Here’s another question for all of you. I know you have your opinions; please speak up and share them ( Read more... )

story, dinosaurs, sci-fi, starbucks

That is a hard thing to know (about Starbucks). You already know that I want to keep going there because I like their drinks so much. It's really sad. I guess I think it's all right to go there because, as you said, we're not supporting the causes they support (not directly, anyway).

I ditto that.

Wow, good question about Starbucks. It is something I never would have considered on my own; I just go to stores wherever, though I wouldn't go to a bar to buy something. But about stores that support liberal causes, I wonder if the passage about eating meat offered to idols comes into play here...like it is okay, but if someone is offended that I bought something from there, not to do it around them lest they stumble ( ... )

What are you saying?? That I'm too talkative? =P

You know, they say that women say (speak) around 7000 words/day, whereas men say only about 2000 words/day. Surprise, surprise... =)

Ah, I just knew someone would bring up the meat-offered-to-idols passage. The only question was who would do it first. Unfortunately, basically all stores/businesses support some immoral things. I'm currently in agreement with you, but I'd like to study this out better before I state my position emphatically to others...

:) Haha! That's funny, I am not too talkative in person, so that quote should say something like... women speak 7000 words a day, except for the Melissa's of the world... j/k. (I imagine Missy as being quiet, too!)

I probably type about that much though ;P

Yes, I'm very quiet, too, so that 7000 words a day doesn't work for me! hehe

Haha, yeah, I know you were talking to me, but my computer was in flux! I had to fix it before I could get back on here and parade my L'Jam on everyone.

As for companies, I think that if you can live with supporting a company that does such things, and the coffee is worth it, then go ahead, and if not, it's as simple as not supporting them. :-) That's how life works, especially capitalist's lives.

As for the Sci-Fi, I think it would be better if you just notified us when you came out with a new part, and then linked to a website dedicated to the story, and took some good time to typeset the story into a nice book form for the better consumption of all of us. :-) Then I would really like to read it.

:) Actually, Aaron, I didn't have you in mind when I said that. Usually you comment more than all the other guys put together on my list. Thanks for your comments, btw.

Good suggestion about the sci-fi story... I'll think about it.

Oh, okay, that's good, I think. If you need a good TeX layout for your book, feel free to mention it to me, and I'll see if I can't whip up something really small and quick for you to use to typeset your book. :-)

Thank you for the offer regarding the book.
