What About Iraq?

I'm curious, what do you all think about the U.S. getting out of Iraq? Should we stay indefinitely, stay awhile longer, or leave now?

Though I understand the reasons we're there, I'm of the opinion that we need to set a deadline not long from now to withdraw--I'm talking weeks.

Hmmm. Well, We shouldn't stay indefinetly. I have a friend in the Marines and he's been over to Iraq so I know that I do want them home to their families as soon as possible. Why do you think they need to set a deadline not long from now? ( I haven't been able to keep up w/ the war for the past 2 weeks...so I'm kinda in the dark about it.)

Oh, my feelings have little to do with the number of deaths or Iraqi resentment of the troops, but mostly to do with the Constitution and ultimate outcome of the war. I'm not sure I want to get into that right now, but...

Briefly... The constitutional issue is that the congress never properly declared war as the Constitution requires, I believe. So, we're there unconstitutionally. Even if we do stay much longer, the outcome for Iraq will probably not be much better than if we leave very soon. It seems probable that an Iranian-like leader, who’s extreme, will eventually take office, sooner or later.

Maybe I’m all wrong on this issue. I’m interested in other people’s opinions about this...

Greetings Levi! Yes, Florida's been my home country (loosely speaking) for about 15 years. Before that I was in NY for about 8.

That's Benny Hinn, right? What a fraud. Those kind of people make me wanna puke. (Well, something like that :)

I guess we could spend a lot of time talking about it, and analyzing what's to be done. The way I figure it though, about the time I can actually do something about the situation other than simply pray about it is probably about the time I'll worry my head about it.

I personally think that the top brass knows a lot more than any reporter does, about the whole situation over there. I know that God put Bush in office presently, so I know God is working His purposes, whatever they are.

I suppose for me to think a lot about it right now would seem like self inflicted nonsense, which is something I don't need right now.

I guess I like to focus on things I can change and forget about what I can't. My life has been much simpler that way.
