You have to feel sorry for the kids these days. I assume, barring some breakthrough in social dynamics, the pack mentality of teenagers is still as strong as ever, and they descend on the weak and sickly like hungry wolves

I wish I knew how to share what happened to me, but I don't know what it was other than luck and/or magic.
Today, when teenagers tell their parents that they can't possibly understand what it's like, that's true. Parents can have an inkling, can make an imaginative guess, but the reality is so different. Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words now last forever.
What happened to the girl was terrible. The fact that there are still terrible things being posted on tribute sites for her is incredible. Hopefully those responsible for this bullying will be punished but it does show that when people think they can not get caught they can be very vicious.
I am so glad that there was no Facebook when I was in high school. Kids are cruel already and the internet makes them feel annoymous and powerful and they act worse because of it. Honestly parents need to actually pay attention to what their kids are doing online and make them accountable when they bully.
