Annie hadn't even considered the possibility that the second island could include rides and games - not to mention the fact that she hadn't even known there was a second island until a couple weeks ago, but once they've exhausted everything there is to see and do, it only makes sense to take the monorail over, sharing the occasional carnival snack between themselves as she describes everything she can see to him ( ... )

"Just in case you're even thinking about it, you're not getting me on the teacup ride," Auggie warns nearly the moment she brings it up. She confirms his suspicion a moment after, and before he can even suggest they check out the games - he bet there's something he could even try out - they're moving again, in the direction of the noise he'd heard. He isn't completely sure which game she's apparently chosen to stop by. She sounds vaguely confident even when she's teasing, though, so he can at least guess it's something she's probably good at.

"It's been a while since I've gone to an amusement park, but I think it's supposed to be me winning you one," he points out, biting back a laugh.

"Ugh, no," Annie agrees, making a soft sound of disgust. "Last time I went on one of those was at the Disneyland in Tokyo, and I was sick for hours afterward. No, thank you." She doesn't think he would ever judge her for barfing in front of him, but all the more reason just to avoid that scenario altogether. She picks up one of the longer rifles, gauging the lighter weight in her hand, and lifts it up, squinting one eye shut to focus in on the red bulls-eye.

"You know, you could probably tell me what I'm doing wrong," she admits, with a chuckle. "Since I was never technically cleared for a gun before I showed up here."

"I wouldn't have pegged you as someone who gets motion sick," Auggie muses, tilting his head thoughtfully. All the better for him. That he had a similar reaction once is something she doesn't need to know about. He guesss pretty quickly what game they're in front of now when she talks about guns.

"I heard you picked it up pretty quickly when you went back to the Farm," he points out, crossing his arms against his chest. He considers giving her tips, but decides he wants to see how she does by herself first. "I could help you, but I thought you're supposed to be the one winning me something. Kind of defeats the purpose if I help line you up."
