he's this close to losing it. there's so many people and they're all moving in slow motion? isn't possible for anyone to shop but without the tempo of a snail? he thinks to himself angily as he tries to shove his way between the mass of people.
finally he gets to the fountain where jongin is sitting on the edge, sunglasses perched on his nose as he scans the crowd. chanyeol knows he's a good fifteen minutes late, something which wouldn't have happened if the enourmous amount of people on the shopping street wasn't there.
he collapses onto jongin when he almost stumbles through and jongin catchs him easily, rightening him up straight.
"you're late." he simply says before linking their pinkies and pulling chanyeol around the big fountain. he can feel small droplets of water hit his face when they pass the side of the wind's direction, it's cooling against the beaming sun from above and even with sunglasses on he sometimes squints from the strong light.
"where are you taking me?" chanyeol asks when they're a bit away from the thong of people, sliding his hand to link all of their fingers together. jongin just squeezes his hands as an answer so chanyeol follows him quietly.
the old buildings of the city shines in the sun light, old and slightly crooked but they hold so much charm and chanyeol wouldn't want them any other way. he's being led into the small streets and allyways, his own store not too far away from there but he keeps quiet and looks at jongin's easy smile and the slight bounce in his step giving away how excited he is.
they stop in front of a small cafe and chanyeol tries to follow jongin inside but the other stares at him until he stays put. he lights a cigarette to shake off the feeling of being a dog and waits for jongin to come back out in the sun again.
the summer time always brings out more bicyclist and the streets around the main shopping street are bustling with all kinds of people on their bicycles driving to the canal or one of the public parks and gardens.
there's a little girl eating the biggest icecone he's ever seen, it's almost bigger than her head, but she's smiling happily as she licks away on the sweet cold treat. she's already smeared in with the sticky mess and he's suddenly glad he's not the one taking care of her.
he's so focused on the little girl that he startles when jongin steals his cigarette to take a drag of it before placing it between his lips again.
"come on" jongin says and links their hands again before chanyeol can ask what's in the paper bag in his other hand.

they walk for quite a while, jongin telling about a douchebag that came into the shop to look for a certain pair of alias shoes and refused to believe jongin when he said they where sold out.
chanyeol nods along sympathic, he knows the feeling, those customers are the worst. he's about to offer a comfort kiss when they're stopping for a red light just in front of the royal garden.
he can already see the emos and goths gathered at the front in large groups and he shudders at the thought of having to walk by them. jongin doesn't seem to take notice of their stares on their hands just pulling chanyeol further into the big public garden to settle under a big tree just so they can lay their things in the shadows and slick some sun mean while.
chanyeol plumps down onto the ground and quickly rids himself of his shirt, watching as jongin does the same. he always likes to see the stretch of all that smooth tan skin but even if most people wouldn't think twice of them he knows jongin doesn't feel comfortable with him touching too much so chanyeol doesn't reach out like he wants to.
"so are you going to tell what's in the bag?" he asks instead and jongin smiles wide and warm when he settles close to chanyeol on the ground. "sandwiches. i found a new golden place for lunch."
chanyeol can't help but return jongin's proud smile and readily takes the sandwich handed for him. "luhan and a new friend is coming by later with beers. since it's sunday tomorrow luhan thinks it's time for us to get shit drunk." jongin says with his mouth full of food.

something incredible cold is dropped onto his stomach and chanyeol yelps, squinting his eyes to see who the culprit is. luhan's smiling down at him and if looks could kill he should've been dead years ago, before chanyeol met jongin, so he's kind of glad looks don't kill.
"what's up losers?" the older throws out before dumping a box of beer down beside chanyeol and falls to his ass easily. they don't provide him with an answer and he doesn't expect one. the bottles of beer are quickly distributed around between them and then luhan deems his guest proper for introduction.
"guys i found this little lost guy wandering around. kyungsoo, losers. losers, kyungsoo." they clink their beers in greetings and drinks their way into friendship.
